Sandbridge has a very active civic league. Membership is open to those owning a house, condo or undeveloped land within its boundaries. The League maintains active involvement with Virginia Beach city government. The League also hosts community events and publishes newsletters and annual directories for its members. Sandbridge Beach is home to one of the largest volunteer rescue squads in the city of Virginia Beach. Residents and visitors have the peace of mind knowing that a well trained and well-equipped rescue squad is ready to come to their aid in a medical emergency.
